Standards(ASME/ANSI B16.5, B16.47 & B16.36)
ASME/ANSI B16.5, B16.47, and B16.36 define the dimensional, material, and pressure–temperature requirements for pipe flanges, flanged fittings, and orifice flanges used in industrial piping systems, covering pressure ratings, dimensions, tolerances, marking, inspection, and testing.
ASME/ANSI B16.5 applies to pipe flanges and flanged fittings in pressure classes 150–2500, with nominal pipe sizes from NPS 1/2 to NPS 24, typically manufactured from forged or cast materials.
For larger sizes, typically NPS 26 to NPS 60, pipe flanges and flanged fittings are commonly supplied in accordance with ASME/ANSI B16.47 for pipeline, power, and high-capacity process applications.
ASME/ANSI B16.36 applies specifically to orifice flanges, defining requirements to support accurate differential pressure flow measurement and integration with instrumentation systems.
Flange Type
